How to Fly in Harbor Havoc
Most players never leave the sky. Learn it on purpose.
Harbor Havoc teaches flying by letting you stall into the water. This page is the version with words. The video in the middle is an early-game look at the same hangar. For buttons, use controls. For shopping, use the planes list.
You spawn an aircraft from the vehicle menu using Tokens. The free Basic Biplane costs 1 Token. That is the correct first flight. Do not start in a Jet you cannot replace after one crash. Tokens come back slowly. Gold does not refund a bad habit.
Takeoff and the first turn
After you spawn, get off the deck. Low, slow passes over your own harbor are how friendly turrets and confused teammates clip you. Climb enough to see the mid islands, then pick a job: flag, escort, or bomb run. If you have no job, you are the reason the destroy-harbor guide exists.
Turning costs speed. Harbor Havoc airframes are arcade, not a sim, but they still punish holding a tight circle until you drop into the sea. If you need to reverse on a target, climb, roll out, and come back. If you are in a bomber, do not turn with a Gunner Jet. Drop and leave.
Crashes are a feature
The Crash Course badge exists because ramming works. It is the most common takedown in the badge set. Use it on a bomber that is about to hit your harbor. Do not use it as your only attack on a 25,000 HP building. A ram spends the whole plane. A bomb spends the payload.
After a crash you walk or respawn and spend Tokens again. That is why cheap frames matter. A 2-Token Basic Gunner can come back. An 11-Token Space Bomber cannot until the clock pays you. The spawn planner exists for that moment.
What to fly for each job
- Flag run: Biplane or Jet Ski, then get out. Islands are a land problem after you arrive. See how to capture islands.
- Air control: Basic Gunner, Heavy Gunner, then Jet or Gunner Jet.
- Harbor damage: Basic Bomber, Heavy Bomber, Stealth Bomber.
- Linger and annoy: Attack Heli. It has 500 health and will get focused.
Helicopters hover. Jets do not. If you treat a Jet like a heli you will present a side to every turret on the map.
Staying useful after you can fly
Once you can take off without swimming, stop collecting mid-air 1v1s at the edge of the map. The harbor cannot see those. Escort the bomber. Cut down the enemy bomber. Land on a captured island if you need a faster return. Read how to play if you still think the objective is “most jets downed.”
Two-seat planes are gone. If an old video tells you to sit in the back of a Combo, that shop row left on 10 December 2024. Buy a Heavy Gunner instead and keep flying.
Mobile flight is the same physics with worse camera. Play landscape, keep thumbs off the fire button during takeoff, and do not treat a Jet like a hover craft. Console players should bind look to a stick they already trust. The airframe, not the platform, is why you hit the water.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Harbor Havoc questions.
What is the best plane for beginners?
The free Basic Biplane, then the Basic Gunner. Both are cheap to respawn after a crash.
How do I spawn a plane?
Open the vehicle menu, pick an unlocked airframe, and spend Tokens. You start each round with 10.
Should I ram other players?
Yes if they are about to bomb your harbor. No if that is your only plan for the 25,000 HP base.
Why do I keep hitting the water?
Tight turns dump speed. Climb out of the turn and come back instead of holding the stick around.
